Founded in 1850, Los Angeles County is one of the oldest counties in the state of California. Originally much larger than it exists today, Los Angeles county was divided into what is now Kern County, San Bernardino County and Orange County.

The geographical variety that exists in Los Angeles County is staggering. A person could ski in the mountains, visit the high desert with the ubiquitous Joshua trees, and then take a leisurely rest at the beach, all in a single day. The county also made up of islands, deep valleys, forests, lakes and rivers.

Los Angeles is also the most populous county in the United States. Los Angeles County is home to 9.8 million people, of which 4 million live in the city of Los Angeles. The people of Los Angeles County are as diverse as the geography. People from all over the world call it home.

There is never a shortage of things to do in Los Angeles County. The geographical diversity is perfect for a multitude of activities. The Greater Los Angeles Area has world famous night clubs, bars, comedy clubs, sports venues, music venues, museums and entertainment parks. The home of the entertainment industry, Hollywood, has famous celebrities and history dating back to the golden era of film. The weather will never dampen the mood either, with sunny skies and warm weather being the norm.

Los Angeles County, with its geography, big cities, diverse population and wonderful weather, is one of the most fascinating and fun places on earth.
