Corporation
- The Civic Center Corporation meets annually in February at
5:00 P.M. in the Administrative Services Conference room at
Downey City Hall.

Design Review
Board
- Members are appointed at-large and by occupation. The Design
Review Board meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of each
month at 6:30 P.M. in the conference room of the Council
Chamber of Downey City Hall.

Handicapped Appeals
Board
- The Handicapped Appeals Board meets as called. Two members
shall be physically handicapped. The remaining three members
will be appointed from the standing Design Review Board,
comprised of two members experienced in construction and
One a public member.

Library Advisory
Board
- The Library Advisory Board meets at 6:30 P.M. on the third
Tuesday of each month in the Cormack meeting room. With the
new charter amendment governing terms of commissions, their
terms will run concurrently with the term of the council
member making the appointment.

Los Angeles
County-Downey Regional Public Recreation Area Commission
(Golf Course Authority)
- The Commission consists of five members, two appointed by
the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors (*) and three
appointed by the City Council. The members serve four-year
terms. Meetings are held annually in February in the
administrative services conference room of the Downey
City Hall.

- The commission meets on the third Thursday of each month
(as needed) at 3:30 P.M. in the training/testing room on
the second floor of Downey city Hall. With the new charter
amendment governing terms of commissions, their terms will
run concurrently with the term of the council member
making the appointment.

Advisory Board
- The Personnel Advisory Board meets on a special called basis
to handle personnel grievances. The meetings are held in the
training/testing room on the second floor of the Downey City
Hall. With the new charter amendment governing terms of
commissions, their terms will run concurrently with the term
of the council member making the appointment.

- The Planning Commission meets at 7:30 P.M. on the first and
third Wednesdays of each month in the Council chamber of
Downey City Hall. With the new charter amendment governing

Community Services Commission
- The Recreation and Community Services Commission meets at
4:00 P.M. on the first Tuesday of each month in the Council

Board
- The Water Advisory Board meets at 7:00 P.M. the third Wednesday

Advisory Committee
- The committee meets on an as-needed basis. Meetings are held
in the Council Chamber Conference Room of the Downey City Hall.

Environmental Sanitation Committee
- The committee meets on the fourth Monday of the month at 12:15
P.M. in the Green Room at the Downey Theatre, 8435 Firestone
Boulevard. The committee is dark during the months of June,
August and December.

Emergency Preparedness
Committee
- Committee meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month
at 7:00 P.M. at Fire Station No. 1 located at 12222 Paramount
Boulevard, Downey.

Traffic Committee
- The members serve a four-year term and until their successors
are appointed and qualified. The committee meets on the first
Thursday of the month at 9:00 A.M. in the Testing/Training room
on the second floor of Downey City Hall.
